Abstract:
This review analyses the renewed interest in industrial hemp as a sustainable agricultural commodity.
Key Findings:
Renewed interest in industrial hemp is in part, attributed to its sustainability potential
Industrial hemp is shown to have multiple beneficial characteristics like its harmony with the environment and its use as an alternative cover crop for small farmers thereby increasing biodiversity
Emergence of circular economies means industrial hemp’s sustainability will make it a key player in addressing the climate crisis
